Northwest Airlines (NWA), has an opening for 1 Meteorologist. The Meteorology office is located at NWA's world headquarters, Mpls-St. Paul Int'l Airport, in a state of the art System Operations Control (SOC) facility. Minimum requirements are:
1. A B.S. in Meteorology from an accredited university
2. 2 Years synoptic forecasting experience
3. Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressures
4. Ability to work evening and midnight shifts with rotating days off.
Candidates with aviation forecasting experience preferred.
Responsibilities include forecasting hazardous aviation weather conditions
using NWA's copyrighted TP System; airport terminal forecasting; producing surface and flight cruise level weather depiction charts and quality control of weather databases. After an initial training period the successful candidates will produce products and briefings for NWA and other Contract Customers including, flight dispatchers, pilots, operations and station personnel.
