More from amarillo...

I just got back from amarillo and am now officially the Weekend Meteorologist/storm chaser for Channel 10. Its a pretty sweet deal too. The day I was there they got in their newest ratings...for their 10pm show they were a good 15,000 viewers above the number 2 station in town. Ill be on mostly for the weekends but the way it sounded is ill most likely be doing 2 to 3 mornings some weeks as well. Also, once I get in, learn everything and get comfortable, I'm taking over the 5, 6, and 10 while the chief is on vacation!!! Shel Winkley...prime time...not too shabby. But seriously, everyone at the station is great and seems amazingly nice and they have a lot of cool toys to play with there too so I think its going to be a lot of fun. Ill DVR my first day on and youtube it so you can all watch me pee my pants on live television!

I'm probably going to start right around the 4th of July so this is my last week in college station. I'm leaving to go back to venus next saturday so all next week i'm with Melissa...party straight through!

MELISSA GOT A JOB!

hey all!! Yes its true, I got a job! its all very recent, but I officially accepted today! I will be working at Source Enviromental Services in Houston by the Galleria. Its an air quality consulting firm and looks really cool. I'll be starting out by learning everything and helping out on projects to learn the ropes. Then in time, when other concentrated positions become available, I will be all set to move up. So thats what I'll be doing now with my life. I start August 13, so party time till then!

So i was looking at the KFDA website to get a little background before I headed up on wed and two of their meteorologists have tags to their names. The chief is "Doppler" Dave and another guy is "Big" John. Anyways, I got to thinking and I think I might propose getting a name of my own like "Supercell" Shel...then that got me thinking that we cant be real pirates unless we have cool weather pirate names. So...come up with a name and let us know. Gay? yes. Do you have anything else better to do right now? No. Deal with it.

I GOT AN OFFER!!! with KFDA CBS in Amarillo. Im going up there on wed to see the station and town and all that good stuff and then very possibly be employed! My official title would be weekend meteorologist/storm chaser...so I'm freaking pumped. Im also pumped about not having to sleep on a couch anymore..ha. The intern ( Jennifer Dunn (Salato) got the journey forecaster and there is now a spot available. Got a call from region and they "unofficially" offered me the job. They still have to bid it out and posted which will take around 2-3 weeks before I get an official offer letter and start date, but its mine.

I'm back...

so not going to lie...i felt disconnected from the world without being able to check weatherpirates...i didnt even freaking know that there was a tropical storm kicking around b/c I havent had internet for the past couple of days. Im stealing it right now from some wireless from the projects across the street.

As for right now, I'm sleeping on a friends couch since we had to be out of the apt on the 31st. Im still working at the hotel for now until I hear about a job. So yeah..good times. Come visit me on the couch sometime!
