Something Fishy is going on...

its crazy how these things form....freaking Humberto went from nothing to a cat 1 hurricane in less than 24 hours. Unreal! Earlier this season two cat 5s made landfall for the first time ever.

See the theory of the Spurs winning holds true. Each year they win the NBA a hurricane hits Texas. But yeah I totally agree this is Al Gore's fault.

OH and here's a snippet from a hurricane discussion that I found rather amusing:
BASED ON OPERATIONAL ESTIMATES...HUMBERTO STRENGTHENED FROM A 30 KT DEPRESSION AT 15Z YESTERDAY TO A 75 KT HURRICANE AT 09Z THIS MORNING...AN INCREASE OF 45 KT IN 18 HOURS. TO PUT THIS
DEVELOPMENT IN PERSPECTIVE...NO TROPICAL CYCLONE IN THE HISTORICAL
RECORD HAS EVER REACHED THIS INTENSITY AT A FASTER RATE NEAR
LANDFALL. IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW...SOMEDAY...WHY THIS HAPPENED.

alicia did you steal that from paul?? cause he said that exact same thing at work today.

p.s. i like how when i go to bed there is a 100% chance of rain. and then i wake up in the morning with no rain what so ever and then they change it to 10%...idiots

well everytime dallas or houston wins an nba title.....

nevermind that virtually never happens..

As for Humberto, I just think the conditions were near perfect for it to strengthen... There very very little upper level shear, while at the same time, the cold front forced it to stay off shore, allowing it to continue to strengthen.
