More Hurricanes!!!

First, let me say that we find out what the baby is today!!! As of 10:18 AM you have 3 more hours to vote on the sex at themosiers.blogspot.com. We will update later tonight about it all. I am super excited!!

I am going to talk about Ike here.

Notice anything in these images...

The models forecast (which is basically the NHC forecast), predict something that has never happened before. The climatology shows the track of tropical cyclones close to Ike's current location. All of them recurve. It should be interesting what actually happens. The model's are in good agreement so its hard to say anything about the current forecast, but its just a little unusual.

Just for kicks, heres the 7-day HPC forecast: http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov/medr/day7nav.html (cant get the image to load)

It shows Ike located just off the tip of Yucatan with a trough a low pressure that should pick it up and pull it north. Should be a fun couple of weeks.

Thanks! We are super excited. Stay tuned to themosiers.blogspot.com for more updates and information....I have suggested a few weather names but I haven't come up with anything that great yet. Any suggestions? A first and middle name suggestion is preferred, but if you can only come up with one thats ok too....I am looking forward to see what you come up with.
